Tips for maintaining
your fence
Classic Slipboard Fence
Our Classic Slipboard Fence is designed for long-life and easy maintenance:
- With no screws in the rails, it’s easy to replace a broken rail if you need to. Replacement rails slip easily into the posts, snug and secure.
- Because the posts are pressure-treated to prevent mildew and decay, they give years of problem-free service. In fact, they’re backed by a 30-year warranty.
- Our Classic Slipboard Fences are stainable, too, for a classier look as well as further protection against the elements.
Year Around Maintenance for All Fences
- Early spring walk the perimeter and straighten and tamp posts.
- Pre-winter, reinforce areas of fencing—walk the perimeter and straighten and tamp all posts, horses test fences!
- Re-apply paint or stain every two years as needed.
Installation Tips for Do-It-Yourselfers
- Dig holes minimum 3’ deep
- All posts need to be tamped in 3” layers
- Concrete should only be used as a collar on the post, when needed
